The provider and the service

Levente Somogyi – Human-Service Mental Health Counselling Centre

Registration number: 50768989

Contact: human.service.mental@gmail.com

Professional scope of the service

We provide mental health and life counselling, in person or online. This is not an emergency, psychiatric or medical service.

We respectfully draw prospective clients’ attention to the fact that our services do not constitute psychological counselling provided within specialist healthcare.

Accordingly, our work does not include treating severe conditions, which occur in approximately 1–6% of the population and require clinical psychological specialist care or medication, nor do we provide therapeutic sessions that fall within psychiatric or clinical psychological counselling.

Our mental health counselling/coaching service includes preliminary screening (with reference to the DSM diagnostic manual). In accordance with recognised international ethical guidelines, where a person may be experiencing such symptoms, we advise what type of specialist care may be needed and where it may be obtained, and refer the person to a potential care provider.

We therefore do not undertake the legally defined patient–therapist activities associated with medical treatment. Our organisation aims to support participants through constructive, good-faith personal development and education.

02

Scope of counselling services

The counselling process may include:

  • Exploring and listening to personal concerns raised by the client.
  • Preliminary psychological screening for mental and emotional disorders or difficulties; where needed, referral to publicly funded healthcare facilities and psychological services. This includes assessing which services can meet the client’s needs and language requirements, in a language they speak.

Within a psychologically safe and confidential environment, discussions may address the following areas as appropriate:

  • Life coaching, including practical “how” questions related to time management, academic performance, self-awareness, stress management, university life, interpersonal conflicts and personal boundaries.
  • Support for employees concerning career and cultural issues, as well as matters relating to international student life.
  • Drug and alcohol prevention.
  • Helping clients work towards positive changes in their life circumstances.
  • Coping with learning difficulties.
  • General mental health and wellbeing concerns.
  • Identifying and strengthening personal resources.
03

Confidentiality and personal rights

Sessions take place in a confidential setting. No audio or video recordings may be made of either individual consultations or group sessions.

Information shared during sessions may not be disclosed to third parties. The counsellor may collect only anonymous statistical information, without personal identifiers, concerning attendance numbers and topics discussed.

Limits of confidentiality in situations involving risk

Where an intention to harm oneself becomes evident to the counsellor through the client’s account, the counsellor may set aside professional confidentiality and, to the extent possible, encourage the client — without using physical force — to seek available assistance.

Where there is a planned intention to harm a particular person or group, the counsellor likewise has the right and duty to notify the authorities directly.

Enquiries and appointments

Appointments for both online and in-person counselling can be requested by email or telephone. The online appointment booking link is sent directly to applicants only.

In-person appointments are arranged in advance via human.service.mental@gmail.com or by telephone. Instructions for joining an online session are provided once the appointment has been confirmed.

05

Fees and payment

The fee for an individual counselling session is HUF 19,000 / 50 minutes, whether in person or online.

Payment arrangements are explained when the appointment is agreed.

06

Cancellations and non-attendance

An appointment may be cancelled free of charge at least 12 hours before the scheduled start time. No separate cancellation fee is charged for later cancellations.

If a client fails to attend an agreed appointment without cancelling, the non-attendance fee is HUF 19,000. This condition applies only if the client has been clearly informed of it and accepted it before booking.

07

Consumer rights and complaints

For consumer contracts concluded at a distance, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal or termination may apply, subject to the rules concerning the commencement and completion of services.

Complaints may be sent to human.service.mental@gmail.com. In a consumer dispute, the client may also contact the competent alternative dispute resolution (conciliation) body.
